Amici Fashion Police

It's the night of the Academy Awards and all the stars are out to play. I love reviewing the dresses and seeing the stars grand entrances. I have to say this year it seems that most actresses chose classic looks with vibrant colours and standout pieces.
This is a great way to see what styles of dresses are in and re create the look for that next special event you might be attending or get some ideas for bridesmaids dresses! Which one was your fave? Here are some of mine... xxx

I don't know her name but iLove that outfit!

Scarlett Johanson in Dolce & Gabbana

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Halle Berry in Marchesa

Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang

Michelle Willams in Chanel Haute Couture

Reese Witherspoon in Armani Prive

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture

Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein Collection

Jennifer Hudson in Versace

Bridal Expo

I am super excited about this weekend's Gold Coast wedding expo! If you are a bride to be and you haven't quite figured out "what kind of bride" you are, this is a great place to go and get some ideas. My suggestion is to bring your best friend (I am bringing mine!) and enjoy the day! You can now also pre book your seats for the main parade. I am a huge fan of Jonathan's Bridal and so excited to see those gorgeous gowns!

Something New!

This is the cutest thing! If you would like something totally unique on your wedding day this is the thing! A couple of very talented designers and animators have created The Animated Bride, so what they do is they either create cool invitations, animated photo montages or (my fave) an animated film about you and your someone special!

Solemates

I love, love, love shoes, but then who doesn't?!?! Earlier this week, I came across a beautiful shoe that is just to die for. Beyonce was spotted at a basketball game in LA wearing the new Christian Louboutin Daffodile 160 in Strass, which I will definitely dream about for a very long time.

Then there were the Christian Louboutin Bridget Back ankle booties that Olivia Wilde wore at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards show 2011.

I went looking to find similar shoes in Australia and no luck!!! Copies must be on their way soon. For now all that I could find were these stunning platform heels generously adorned with beads from Mollini, which come in either black or blue.
Or these from  Peep Toe

If you like it, put a ring on it!

I am in love with the ring pillows from EmersonMade! Aren't they lovely and oh so pretty!!

For something blue...
They retail at USD $68 for each pillow.

If you are on a tight budget and don't want to miss out on style there is another option- DIY! When in need turn to Martha Stewart. This seems really easy and inexpensive to make.
INSTRUCTIONS
Print three sheets of flower templates onto 8 1/2-by-11-inch iron-on transfer paper, then iron each one onto white cotton organdy to create a rose or ranunculus ring pillow. You will be left with six flower shapes.
Cut out each flower with scissors, leaving no white space. Each flower that you cut should be a little bit smaller than the last, and organic in shape. Stack them on top of each other, and stitch through the middle to secure.
Stitch flower to your ring pillow, and sew a ribbon on top.
