Tip Of The Week: Eco Friendly Weddings

If you are on board with diminishing your eco-footprints then your wedding day should be no different. There are so many options out there to help you choose the right suppliers & ensure that your wedding helps save the environment! Here are a couple of things to consider & a few great suppliers to help create your best eco friendly wedding;

1. The Engagement Ring: Yes, there are eco friendly jewellers! Some of the best ones we discovered were Ethical Jewellery Australia an online engagement and wedding boutique;  Zoe Pook, they offer hand made designs for you &  Utopian Creations, Australia's oldest eco friendly ethical jewellers.

2. Invitations and Stationery: Check out Earth Greetings as their invitations are printed carbon neutral in Australia, using vegetable based ink on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Our fave has to be A Little Birdie Design Studio, as they supply unique wedding invitations & stationery, DIY supplies, plantable seeded paper, recycled paper envelopes and so much more!

3. Gifts & Favours : Eco Celebrations make gifts and favours that are friendly for the environment and use local Aussie suppliers (gotta share the love :). If you want to purchase a unique gift for the bride and groom, then check out GreenUrLife. They offerselection of natural, high quality, practical, eco-friendly kitchenware products that are BPA free and made from either recyclable or biodegradable materials such as stainless steel, recycled timber, glass and cotton.

4. Reception Venues: I have to start with my personal fave, Brampton Island!! ( I love, love, love this place and must recommend it if you want a simple relaxing holiday/wedding!). The only issue there is that currently the resort is under a much required redevelopment and the opening date has not yet been released. The redevelopment started in January this year so I'm hoping for a reopening in the summer! Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is another wonderful place.  For a full list of amazing eco friendly reception venues check out this page

5. Dresses: Worn Only Once is a place where savvy brides can buy & sell preloved bridal wear. Buying preloved attire can save you money and more importantly it helps the environment by reducing excess wastage.

Hope all that helps! If you are confused or looking for further advice on eco friendly weddings (or weddings in general) email us and we will be happy to help you out! xxx

PS. Thank you all for your wonderful comments and emails over the last few months! The blog is doing great and we are loving all the viewers from around the globe :) xxx
