Vegan Wedding Ideas

Here are a few tips to make your wedding animal and vegan friendly!

1. Have a different bachelorette party
Instead of holding a wild girls night out, invite your friends and selflessly volunteer at an animal shelter for the afternoon (of course follow it up with cocktails). Perhaps ask the shelter if you can hold a picnic there afterwards.

2. Avoiding animal products
Ok so I know that this is a tough one for Australia (I myself am vegetarian and an animal lover), however you just have to do a bit of research or buy online. Avoid animal products such as wool & silk. Check out PETA's shopping guide to compassionate clothing. One way to do your bit everyday is to use cruelty free make up :)

3. Vegan/ Vegetarian Catering
Opt for a vegan or vegetarian menu as most caterers will cater to your needs. This is a lovely way to introduce vegan/ vegetarian diet to your loved ones but also keep in mind that you should advise them in advance just to avoid any issues on the big day. Cruelty- free cakes are almost normal these days as there are alternatives for eggs, butter etc.

4. Gifts
Guests can donate to your fave charity or instead of you giving gifts to your guest donate on their behalf. Perhaps this will inspire a few people to continue to change the world.

5. Use soy candles
These can be found everywhere and they are much better for your health as old fashioned candles can have a lot of toxins & chemicals

6. Find vegan friendly holiday destinations
Plan your perfect newlywed getaway at Veg VoyagesGreen Earth Travel, and Active Veggie Tours International.

If you are a vegan or vegetarian groom or bride to be let us know how your lifestyle has influenced your special day. Share the experiences and feel free to recommend any amazing vendors :) xx
