Adult Dinner Party: Dexter
Warning:This is not for everyone. A gorgeous friend of mine recommended that I watch Dexter - a show about a Miami P.D. blood-splatter expert by day/vigilante serial killer by night. Um...no thanks! But she managed to convince me that it is fab so I gave it a go. Little did I know that I would get completely addicted (in fact watching several episodes a night & going to bed quite late!). I am currently hanging out to watch the 6th season. I do believe that this is one of those "love it or hate it" shows. I love it. Therefore I was totally impressed by this "Dexter" dinner party idea! How awesome (and creepy for those who do not watch Dexter!!). Amy Lau (an amazing designer) has captured, tongue-in-cheek, the essence of Dexter. Naturally, the room flows red, illustrating the impact of a single hue added to a neutral setting. Patterns range from blood drops and human vein honeycombs to 3D string art, artfully strung from ceilings to walls, simulating Dexter’s crime scene forensic technique. A vinyl-wrapped table and ceiling and plastic-sheathed floor recall the protective plastic the character obsessively uses to protect against splatters when killing. This is ah-mazing and I think it is such a cool idea! xxx
