A Bun In The Oven - Gown

I recently came across a story that made me question really how do we as a society feel about pregnant brides. First of all it is not the 1800's, families are constantly changing, life is changing and that American senator Mike Huckabee is a douche for criticizing Natalie Portman for having a baby out of wedlock. She is engaged and heavily pregnant- finding a dress that she will fit into this week/month and next week/month would be a challenge! More importantly it is her choice. I guess with all the magazines (fashion or bridal) being filled with size 6 models who do not have a bun in the oven, it would be daunting trying to keep up the look.

A friend of ours, Emily, recently got married while she was pregnant (please see the pretty pics below). During her ceremony, I recall thinking how special it must have been standing there with her new husband and a baby on the way. Personally, I don't think that she missed out on the celebrations by not having that glass of champagne and it certainly won't scar her for life. Emily looked beautiful and pregnant or not, every bride is unique on her special day. So we say embrace it, enjoy it and cherish it!
